Dr Patrick Lau has been Deputy Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) since April 2019. In this role, he creates opportunities and facilitates deals for Hong Kong enterprises. Dr Lau oversees specifically the HKTDC’s 51 offices worldwide, external relations, corporate communications and marketing, and is responsible for the overall management of HKTDC’s anchor conferences and selected fairs as well as international and Mainland missions and promotional campaigns.     Moreover, Dr Lau has forged numerous strategic partnerships for the HKTDC and spearheads the T-box (Transformation Sandbox) programme, GoGBA one-stop platform and Belt and Road deal-making. He is a thought leader in ESG, Web3.0 and digital economy, proactively helping SMEs to get ahead in these areas.     Prior to the HKTDC, Dr Lau specialised in mergers and acquisitions (M&amp;A) and investments, and closed many significant deals in the region. Recognised as a seasoned banker and dealmaker, he started working in Hong Kong in 2001 firstly as a corporate lawyer at international law firms Baker McKenzie and Skadden Arps, then as an investment banker at UBS and China Construction Bank (CCB) International, where he held progressively senior posts until Managing Director, Head of M&amp;A and Assistant Head of Investment Bank. From 2015 to 2018, Dr Lau was Director of Investments at sovereign wealth fund Khazanah, and Board Director and Investment Committee Member at biotech and life science private equity fund Xeraya.     Dr Lau graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of Laws with first class honours from Monash University in Melbourne, where he attended medical school and law school concurrently. He has been admitted as an advocate or solicitor in Hong Kong, Australia, England, Wales and Malaysia. He was Honorary Senior Lecturer in Business Law at Monash University and part-time Lecturer at the Law Faculty of the University of Hong Kong.

Mr Edmond Lam received his B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Hong Kong. He also obtained an MBA and became a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in the subsequent years. He joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2001 and headed the Technology Transfer and IP Commercialization section of the Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship Office with the responsibility to explore and identify innovations and technologies in the University, protect the IP and explore commercialization and collaboration opportunities with the industry and technology ventures. Michael Lin (B.A. Biochemistry from U.C. Berkeley; J.D. from Boston University; Ohio Bar; USPTO Bar) was such a terrible bench chemist that he had to become a lawyer.  Michael worked at Procter &amp; Gamble Japan (1997-2007), and P&amp;G Beijing (2007-10). Ms Vivian Lin joined HKPC in 2013 and has over 30 years of experience in her profession of financial management in large corporations. Ms Lin is responsible for overseeing HKPC’s secretariat service for Government funding schemes. She is tasked with leading, integrating, cross-fertilising and leveraging the funding schemes to upgrade and transform the industries as well as proactively pulsing enterprise and industry needs, developing and enhancing the schemes to serve industry-wide business. Ms. Tracy Pang was originally trained as a medicinal chemist and holds a Master's degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Missouri. With a strong interest in the commercialization of innovations in the biotechnology and life sciences field, she later obtained an MBA from the University of London in 2007 and focused her early career on translational research and technology commercialization, particularly in drug discovery and development. Much of Ms. Pang's career has been spent working at the interface between academia and industry. In 2010, Ms. Pang joined the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and has since headed the university's dedicated IP management and technology licensing team which looks after the entire IP portfolio of CUHK. With the efforts of Kelvin and his team, PolyU has successfully nurtured over 500 start-ups, including four unicorns, and effectively translated research outcomes into tangible impact within both industry and society.Prior to joining the academia, Kelvin had extensive experience in the consumer products industry spanning over 17 years. He held the position of Group Vice President in a multinational company specialising in service robotics. Kelvin successfully led a significant strategic transformation from OEM to establishing their own brand, making the company the world's largest manufacturer of robotic mowers, solidifying its reputation and establishing its own brand in the global market.Furthermore, Kelvin has consistently demonstrated his leadership and professional expertise in the field of innovation. He has registered over 250 patents globally as the lead inventor, with more than half of them being invention patents. In addition, he was awarded the second prize of the “Wu Men Jun AI Science &amp; Technology” in 2017 and bestowed the Suzhou City Distinguished Inventor Award in 2015. Well recognized as a luminary, Kenny Wong has received over 130 awards as a leading IP practitioner in Hong Kong and China.Besides his busy practice, Kenny is also a seasoned and popular speaker and is amongst the first to help design and provide Continuing Professional Development courses. He is an Adjunct Professor of the University of Hong Kong and has taught courses on Cybercrime, Intellectual Property and Entertainment. In addition to teaching, he has delivered over 140 lectures, seminars and presentations to judges, IP enforcement officers, lawyers, enterprises, and members of the public on IP and IT subjects in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, the Philippines, and the United States.Kenny publishes extensively too. He co-authored Intellectual Property Law and Practice in Hong Kong, a recommended text by the three universities in Hong Kong which offer IP courses. He is also the co-author of the IP chapters in the tort reference book Tort Law &amp; Practice in Hong Kong. His two popular booklets on IP Licensing and Due Diligence are jointly published by the Hong Kong Government and the Law Society of Hong Kong for free distribution.Kenny serves on a number of professional committees and provides pro bono legal services to a few charities in Hong Kong. He is the chairman of the IP Committee of the Law Society of Hong Kong which is always busy reviewing and making recommendations on the IP laws and practice in Hong Kong. He is an honorary legal adviser of Wai Yin Association - a charitable organisation set up by Miss Hong Kongs, an executive committee member of First Initiative Foundation - a charity which promotes and supports the arts, music and designs of Hong Kong, and the honorary legal adviser of Hear Talk Foundation which serves under-privilege community especially children and the elderly in Hong Kong and Mainland China with hearing impairment and speech disorders. He previously served as the Chairman of the Appeal Panel of the Urban Renewal Authority and the Deputy Chairman of the Copyright Tribunal.
